    Karen's Internal Conflict Began

Karen’s parents were emotionally abusive to Karen, which caused her to become bitter, as she got older.

    DR. PEARSON: (compassionate)

“Karen, it appears you have a hearing issue, particularly in your right ear. You're not hearing as well as you should.”

  • Karen's eyes well up with tears as the reality sinks in. She looks at her mother, MRS. WILSON, for support, but her mother remains distant.

    MRS. WILSON: (cold)

    What can we do, Doctor?

    DR. PEARSON: (reassurance)

“Well, there's a solution. We can provide Karen with a hearing aid for her right ear. It should significantly improve her hearing and overall communication.”

The doctor's words bring a glimmer of hope to Karen's eyes, but her mother's indifference casts a shadow. Karen takes a tentative step toward her mother, seeking comfort. However, Mrs. Wilson subtly shifts her body away, creating a noticeable gap between them.

  • KAREN: (innocently)

‘Mom, it's almost like you're allergic to compliments, you know, like some people are allergic to cats. You never seem to catch one.

    MRS. WILSON: (perplexed)

    “What are you talking about?”

    KAREN: (smiling)

‘The doctor just gave me a glimmer of hope, but your indifference casts a shadow. It's like a sunny day with a permanent cloud only in your world.’

Karen visibly gestured with her hands and her face, facing towards the ceiling, as if she were acting.

    MRS. WILSON: (confused)

“I don't understand what you mean, Karen.”

    KAREN: (chuckling)

‘Oh, it's just a metaphor, Mom. Like, you know, how it feels like you'd rather walk in the rain than enjoy the sunshine of my accomplishments.’

    MRS. WILSON: (in denial)

“Well, I think we should focus on what the doctor said.”

    KAREN: (signs)

‘That's the spirit, Mom. Walk in the rain.’

  • Dr. PEARSON, upon hearing what Karen said, was taking a sip of water. Her dramatic remark catches him by surprise, and he bursts into laughter, almost spitting out the water. He quickly sets the glass down, wiping his mouth with a napkin, and trying to regain composure while a warm smile spreads across his face.

  • Mrs. Wilson goes to Mr. Wilson, attempting to decipher Karen's meaning, which is why the doctor is laughing.

MRS. WILSON: (in denial) (to Mr. Wilson)

“Honey, what was that all about?”

    KAREN:(smiling mischievously)

‘You can't even rub marbles together, Mom.’

    MR. WILSON:(laughing)

“Haha, I think Karen just pulled a Karen on us!”

    MRS. WILSON: (irate)

    ‘Never mind, let's go!’

  • Doctor's Office - Continuous

As the Wilson family exits the doctor's office, Dr. PEARSON, a friendly and jovial personality, struggles to hold back his laughter. But as soon as the door closes behind them, he erupts into uncontrollable hysterics. Clutching his stomach, tears of amusement stream down his cheeks, and the room resounds with his hearty laughter.

  • Hurt People, Hurt Others

Here, Karen is stirring up mischief with her older sister. Karen's discontent stems from her parents' favoritism towards Jessica, primarily because of Jessica's superior singing talents.

  • Blown Away, Sang by Jessica

Jessica, Karen’s sister, performed Carrie Underwood's hit song 'Blown Away.' The image captures a glimpse of the dynamics within Karen's family.

  • Karen's Singing Lessons

Karen is lashing out with hurtful words directed at her singing coach.

  • Karen's Abusive Behavior Knows No Bounds

In this image, Karen tightly grips Jessica's hair, causing her pain, while Karen seems to derive pleasure from the situation. A narcissist, at its best.
